Welcome!!!
Crocheting:I haven't joined the yarn along for several weeks due to my lack of oomph. I have been feeling pretty run down and not really inspired or crafty lately, that was until I saw the first pattern for the Crochet Camp. I just had to make a pretty crocheted cherry potholder for myself.
I really like the way it turned out, especially the colors, but I wish I had made the cherries a little cockeyed. They look too much like the wheels on a bike to me. Other than that, I am super pleased with how it turned out. It will look nice in my kitchen, if it ever gets fixed!

Even though I haven't been crafting much, I have been spending the last few weeks finalizing my handmade Christmas list. With this kitchen mess looming over my head, I have decided that I won't be buying too many presents this Christmas. So, I will have to make my handmade gifts really count.
I picked up One Skein: 30 Quick Projects to Knit and Crochet at the library a few weeks ago. In it, I found the cutest little project for all of the ladies on my list. Sorry girls, this one won't be knit. I still haven't quite figured out the whole knitting process yet, but it will be a pretty cute crocheted item.
Not only is it super cute, but it looks pretty simple too. I'm hoping to whip up several in no time and then move on to my more complicated presents. :)

In other news, I made a gigantic boo boo with my last crochet project, my granny square afghan. I put the one square I had completed away for several weeks, and when I picked it back up to make more squares I used the wrong hook. What a mess!
I'll be sharing that debacle with you next week. In the meantime, check back

ReplyDeleteI came her via Connie's place at the Craft Home Cottage. I've had that book for years; I'm a knitter but not a crocheter - although I feel the need to learn as I LOVE granny squares! You made me remember something that I did a few years back. I was knitting a scarf (thankfully) as I was using two different sized needles! Tee hee.
ReplyDeleteCute little project with the cherries!
