Modcloth has some great vintage style clothes and accessories. I just love the bell bottoms and platform shoes! They only have very limited stock on their items, though. So if you like something you like, you need to get it right away. Several of these items have already sold out. 

I've been waxing nostalgic lately and, amazingly enough, not for the '80s, but the '70s. It has been this way ever since I went to my local used book store's Record Store Day.

I went a little crazy and bought several vintage records! Most of them are '80s artists, but I picked up a couple of '70s records, including a really cool Fleetwood Mac Live double album. It has become my absolute favorite! I play it on the weekends and while I'm cooking dinner or washing the dishes.

Although I was born in the '70s, I was a little too young to remember much. But, I do know that I would have loved to have rocked those bell bottoms and platform shoes while on the disco floor doing the hustle. :)

Five for Friday - Summer Accessories

We have gone from winter to summer here in the Carolinas. I usually don't care for the summer, I am not a fan of the hot weather, but I am actually looking forward to it this year. It has been a cold spring for us. Now that we have warmer weather, I am finally going to change my closet from winter to summer. That means shorts, tank tops, and flats will be making their way into my closet. So now that I am in the summer spirit, I thought it would be fun to share with you a few of my must-have summer accessories. 

1. Sunglasses are a necessity for me. I have very sensitive eyes, so the darker the glasses the better. I also like large lenses to keep the sun out of my eyes and to make me look like a movie star. :) I have a pair very similar to the Daisy Fuentes ones above. They are my favorite pair!

2. For Christmas this year, my mom bought me a super cool white fringe bag. I call it my Sloane Peterson purse, since it reminds me of the jacket Sloane wore in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Doesn't it? Yay for the '80s! I am sooo excited that it is no longer winter, so I can now use my Sloane Peterson purse. :) 

3. My closet is full of cute flats. I have flats in various colors for the spring and summer, including some flowered ones. I am loving that I can put away all of my black and dark brown colored shoes and now wear pink, yellow, and white!

4. A few months ago while looking around a thrift shop, I came across a hair crimper. The exact same one I had in the '80s. I couldn't pass it up, so I dropped a whole $3 and bought the crimper. I was amazed that it still works after all of these years. So, this summer I'll be heading back to the '80s with my crimped hair. I think it will look great with #5!

5. And of course, the summer isn't complete without some neon nail polish. So far, I have neon pink, orange, and blue nail polish. Maybe yellow or green will be added to my stash next. I have gotten so many compliments on my neon nails. They are totally awesome!

Bobble Stitch

One, Two, Three, Four, Five

I am gearing up to take on a huge crochet project. It is going to be a gift, so I can't talk too much about it, but it will require me to learn the bobble stitch.

I have yet to attempt this crochet stitch, so my goal this weekend is to learn it and maybe even make something in the process. I really love all of the projects above, but the sunglasses case might be the best for a beginner. :)
