I am on a pretty tight budget, so I just bought a few black picture frames from the $1.00 bin. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do with them yet, but they are the prefect size for my kitchen window ledge. As I was checking out, the cashier told me there were "prettier" colors in the bin too. I explained to her that I was buying the black ones for a Halloween project. Well, she whipped her head up from scanning my frames and in a really loud voice for the whole store to hear said, "Halloween! It was just the 4th of July". Boy was I embarrassed. I didn't want to get into a holiday craft discussion with her, as there were 20 people in line behind me, so I left the store hanging my head in shame.
Am I the only one who starts their holiday crafts several months before the holiday? Believe me, if I waited until September to make all of my Halloween decorations I'd never get them done. Plus, I have other projects going on at the same time, so 3 months isn't too early, right?
C'est la vie!
Anyway, I have been pinning several super cool Halloween projects I want to attempt this year. I would really love to do a Day of the Dead theme, but maybe I'll just include a few Dia de los Muertos items with my other Halloween decorations.
Here are a few projects at the top of my Halloween 2012 list!

I just bought the Gato Muerto pattern from Urban Threads, so that will be started very soon! If you are an embroiderer or stitcher and you haven't checked out Urban Threads yet, well you must. It is an awesome website with really cool and really cheap patterns. Some of them are pretty spooky too, like this one I ordered a few week ago. I love the spooky ones the best!
So, is anyone else putting their holiday craft lists together? I just started my Christmas one too, but I guess I'd better focus on Halloween, at least for now. :)
