Crocheting and Reading

Crocheting:
Well, I finished my Nook cozy. Karen Sue was right! It is a snowflake design.

It looks a little wonky flat, but standing up it looks really nice. I really like the way it turned out. I did make a mistake by not making it wide enough, so it is a little too tight. I added a single crochet border around the front piece to make it wide enough to slide my Nook in, but it works. I also really like the colors. If I do this again, I might try a snow white background with a blue snowflake.

I also started working on my Christmas presents again. I have now added a white block to my gold one. I am moving along slowly, but hope to pick up the pace this weekend. I'd like to finish at least 5 more blocks before Monday (I have to make 20 total). I think it is doable, unless another craft project catches me eye. :)

Reading:
I still have Camy Tang's book, Protection for Hire on my to read list. I have yet to start it, because I've been spending all of my time organizing my craft room/office.

It is really a complete disaster! And, it looks a whole lot worse today then it did when I took these pictures on Sunday morning. I've pulled everything out of its bin, drawer, and cabinet and onto the floor. I did manage to finish organizing my yarn stash. I was given a lot of this yarn by a family friend who is no longer able to crochet. I didn't realize until I started compiling my yarn, but I had yarn in almost every room. Whew! It is nice to have it all in one place now, in the white cubbyholes on the right. It looks really nice and organized by colors. I'll have to take a picture for next week!

Hopefully I'll get a little time to start my ebook this weekend, but with my Christmas project and my craft room it isn't looking good. It is supposed to be a rainy weekend, which is the perfect weather for relaxing with a cup of tea and a book. That might be just the thing to persuade me to read. :)

  3. My craft room is a total disaster area. I don't suppose once you are done with yours that you would like to come help me?
I've been trying to buy those cubby organizers and so far both that I bought proved to be smaller cubbies than I expected.
I see you have kitties like we do, that like to be in the middle of what you are doing.
