I have several crochet projects in the works, including my bobble blanket, granny square throw, and alpaca yarn pillow. I hate to have so many WIPs at the same time. It makes me feel nothing is being accomplished. But, I did finally finish one project I've been meaning to complete.
Remember my little bobble bow? Well, I finally figured out what to do with it. I added it to my new rosebud pillow. I was originally going to stitch it directly onto the fabric, but decided it would be easier to make it into a pin. This way, if I want to remove it for any reason I can. I think it looks cute!
Reading:
I picked up a few YA books at the library book fair last month. I stacked them up against the wall and basically forgot about them, but while spring cleaning and organizing last weekend I found them again. The one I am most intrigued to read is Mob Princess by Todd Strasser.
I am a huge fan of anything mafia. I know it isn't the greatest topic to be interested in, but I find it really fascinating. I am particularly interested to see how the author incorporates the mob into a YA book. I've been toying with the idea of adding a mob enforcer/hit man to my YA book, so we'll see if one is included in this book and how he is handled.
I believe there are only three books in the series. I picked up the first and third at the book fair and am now on the hunt for #2. With less than 200 pages, I should have this book read in no time. Can't wait!

Great idea, putting the bow on a pin. It looks wonderful. One more reason I need to learn crochet. I've been saying that for years now. Must. Get. Serious. :)

Very lovely! And it's funny, I stumbled upon this same book in the library yesterday. I'm glad to hear it's a good book. Good luck with your own YA story. Writing is such an adventure.
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea, and a great way to make a simple homemade inexpensive pillow into something completely unique. My daughter loves little things like this. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeletelove what you did with the bow, looks like it was made to be there! My husband loves mafia stuff, especially the Godfather movies!! I hope your current read doesn't disappoint.
ReplyDeleteYour bobble bow is really cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm a multi-project crafter, too. It's great to have a bit of variety depending on your mood but I can definitely relate to that feeling of seemingly slow progress.
Very cute! Thanks so much for linking up on Hooking on Hump Day!
