Crocheting and Reading

Crocheting:

I finally started working on my temperature afghan. Although it is a year long project, I don't want to get too far behind. I am almost halfway through the month of January, so that isn't too bad. If you want to see my post about the temperature scarf, click here.

I'm really liking the color combos, so far. We have had some pretty cold temperatures in NC, so there will be some purples showing up towards the end of the month.

Reading:

The Happy Hooker was the very first crochet book I bought after learning to crochet. It is really great! It has plenty of simple projects for the beginner and some more advanced projects for when you really get the hang of crocheting.

One of my craft goals of 2013 is to learn some new crochet stitches, and this book has an entire section of crochet stitches. I've been seeing a lot of projects featuring the bobble stitch lately, so I think that is where I am going to begin.

  2. The colors for your scarf are soooo pretty! You've gotten my attention--I'll have to check out what this temperature scarf is all about! :) It's funny you mentioned the bobble stitch because I just wrote a post listing my favorite 10 crochet baby blanket patterns, in hopes that I can get some advice from others on which one to make for our soon-to-arrive baby girl. One of the blankets on there is a Bobble Blankie, which I made for our first daughter last year. It's such a fun stitch! I even used it to write up a free ear warmer pattern. Can't get enough of it!

I'm a new follower from the Yarn Along! Love your blog!
