Crocheting and Reading

Crocheting:

I'm still working on my crochet/doily afghan, slowly but surely. I have been working on some home projects lately, so my crocheting has taken a back seat, but I am now picking it back up again.

I am almost done with my first square. To be honest, I didn't realize how big the squares were going to be. I don't know why I was thinking they'd be smaller, especially since they have to be big enough to fit a doily, but I now have a better idea of just how big this afghan is going to be. It is going to be BIG.

Reading:

Over the holidays I put on a few extra pounds, which has really made me go backwards in my quest to lose 10 pounds. So, since the new year I've been checking out various weight loss cookbooks. I picked up this low-carb cookbook at my favorite used book store.

I'm not sure if low-carb is exactly how I'm going to tackle this weight loss, but it seems like a great idea for most of my meals. Some of the recipes sound really good. I can't wait to start making some. I'll let you know how they turn out. :)

  4. Leanne: That is awesome! I work for a book design company, so I know fun it is to see a book you worked on. :)

    Thanks, Kerry!

Marsha: A picture of the finished project is under the "projects" link on the left sidebar. It is super cute!
