One Word for 2013

I had been working on my New Year's resolution list for the past few weeks now, but I realized I really didn't have any resolution that I really needed to work on this year. Sure, I need to lose about 10 lbs. and I need to continue to work on writing my book, crafting, and blogging more, but nothing too Earth shattering that needs to be penned onto paper. But as I was catching up on my Facebook friends' posts, I came across a website, oneword365. According to their website, the goal of oneword365 is to:

Forget New Year’s Resolutions. Scrap that long list of goals you won’t remember three weeks from now anyway. Choose just one word.

One word that sums up who you want to be or how you want to live.
One word that you can focus on every day, all year long.

It will take intentionality and commitment, but if you let it, your word will shape you and your year. It will guide your decisions and help you grow.

Discover the big impact one word can make.

 One word.
 365 days.
 A changed life.

I didn't have a hard time coming up with my 2013 word.

In 2012, I felt less and less joyful with every passing month, which is weird because 2012 started out fantastic for me. I had my first craft tutorial published, which was awesome! But after that high something changed and everything turned negative, especially my attitude.

So, I am ready to start 2013 with a clean slate. This year, I am going to focus on things that give me joy. I will work to find joy in the little things, and when something negative is thrown my way I will work to remain joyful through it all. Reciting my favorite Bible verse will help too!

Do you see my really cute JOY button on my sidebar? It was made just for me by Melanie at Only a Breath. Thanks so much, Melanie. I love it!

  10. I choose joy too! It just kept calling to me even as I tried to pick other words because Joy just seemed so easy of a word to pick. But I knew it had to be Joy :)
