I've been starting to work on some fall/winter items. It hasn't been that hot around here lately, so I've got scarves on my mind. :)
I picked up a free crochet pamphlet at Michaels a few weekends ago, and I thought I'd give the pattern a try. It is for a long, skinny scarf crocheted with a larger hook and two different colored skeins of yarn. I decided to destash some of my yarn, so I chose two skeins of Red Heart Yarn, one in cornflower blue and the other in a blue/purple mix.
It is looking good, so far!

With Halloween around the corner, I've been becoming more and more inspired to craft some Halloween projects. My sister bought me Witch Craft: Wicked Accessories, Creepy-Cute Toys, Magical Treats, and More for Christmas last year. I flipped through all of the cute crafts, but haven't tried any yet.
There are so many cute crafts to choose from, but I just don't have the time to attempt them all. So, I've narrowed it down to two. The first is the spooky looking apple on the cover. I have really big issues with 3-D items. Anything felt or fabric that needs to stand up is always a problem for me. So, I figured I'd throw caution to the wind and try my hand at a little spooky plush apple. I hope it turns out okay, or at least decent. :)
The second is a set of crocheted bones. I didn't get around to taking a picture of them, but believe me they are super cute. Plus, I have a spider bowl that will be perfect to hold the bones. Maybe I'll get around to starting on them for next week!

that is a really neat scarf..what is the stitch? sorry I can't tell, cuz I'm not that familiar with all the crochet stitches..
ReplyDeleteVery pretty colors for your scarf. Looks like you'll have something cuddly to keep you warm. Have fun with the Halloween items!

I bought a book called Gifts from Your Stash and there are so many things inside that I want to make.
ReplyDeleteIt's sewing though.
I do want to make a tablet cover for my daughter in crochet before her birthday gets here in October.
