Crocheting:
It has been over a month since I've picked up my hook to crochet. I wanted to start off 2013 with a bang, so I've started on a project that I've had in my Pinterest queue for almost a year, dottie angel's ordinarily extraordinary blanket.
Don't you just love the doilies?!! I actually lucked out last weekend and found some white doilies in the dollar bins at Michaels. Yippee! I love those crazy dollar bins. :)
I am going to stick pretty close to dottie angel's colors, but might use softer colors since some of her colors are a little bright for my color scheme. I'm also thinking of switching to winter white blocks instead of off white ones, mainly because my doilies are white.
Reading:
After taking a few months off after conquering NaNoWriMo, yay for me!, I am getting back into the swing of things and starting to work on my book again. Because I like to challenge myself, well, not really, I have switched back to my YA novel and put my adult one on hold. I have been getting so many ideas for my YA one lately that I just can't get it out of my mind. So, I am currently immersing myself in the YA genre.
I picked up Lauren Conrad's L.A. Candy at my local Goodwill last weekend. I hate to admit it, but I bought it because of the cover. Isn't it cute? And, after all, it was only a buck! When I got it home, I was pleasantly surprised it is a YA novel.
I'm only a chapter or so into the book, and it is keeping my interest, so far. It reminds me a lot of The Hills TV show, which I also hate to admit that I liked too. :)
Linking to Yarn Along.

i've been immersed in 'blanket' love lately, too----i'm hoping the excitement doesn't wane too quickly!!! good luck with yours.

I love that blanket. My mom just gave me a stack of doilies from my great grandmother. Now I know what to do with a few of them!
