Crocheting and Reading

Crocheting:
This is the start of my second Christmas present. I'm actually making two identical presents, but both are really large. My goal is to have them both finished by the end of the summer. Actually, I'd like to have half of my handmade Christmas presents done by the end of the summer. We'll see how that goes, since I am also working on a Cath Kidston style blanket for my couch. Maybe I'll have some pics of that for next week!

Reading:
My mom gave me the book, Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper. It is a story of a blind kitten who doesn't let his "disability" keep him from enjoying life. My mom said this book reminded her so much of my kitty, Daphne, who has her own "disability" of partial facial paralysis. She and Homer are actually very similar, neither one lets their "disability" slow them down. As a cat lover and mom to a special needs kitty, this is the perfect book for me to read, although I was afraid it would be a little too sad for me. I really don't like to read sad and depressing books. But, I'm almost halfway through it and, so far, it hasn't been, which is very good!
